How can I register for a class?

Complete a registration form on-line, or by fax, email, or regular mail.

Can I bring a payment to your office?

No. We only accept payments and registration by mail, fax, email, or on-line registration.

What type of payment do you accept?

All Major Credit Cards and Money Orders. Cash is accepted for late registration the day of the course.

If paying by credit card, can the cardholder be different than the student?


What is the deadline for pre-registration?

All registration forms and payments must be received in our office by the Monday the week of the course in order to be pre-registered.

When will I receive confirmation that the class will be held?

If you are pre-registered, you will receive a confirmation by telephone or email no later than 3 days prior to the class. This allows us time to determine if we have enough students pre-registered in order to hold the class.

What if there aren't enough students to have the class?

You can reschedule for a future class or request a full refund.

How many students do you require to have pre-registered in order to determine if a class will be held?

Typically 8-10 students must be pre-registered to guarantee the class.

Is my money refundable if I pre-registered for a class and do not attend?

No notice, no refund. When notified, accommodations may be made.

Can I register for the class on the day of the class?

Yes, however you will incur a $50 late registration fee and we encourage you to contact our office or check our website to ensure that the course has not been canceled.  The website will indicate "confirmed" or "canceled". 

If I pre-registered, will I receive my certificate of completion the day of the class?


If I am not pre-registered, when will I receive my certificate?

Your certificate of completion will follow in the mail within 30 days.

What if I lose my certificate?

The fee for a duplicate certificate is $25 (Credit Card or Money Order). You must contact our office by email or phone to request a form.  Upon completion and receipt of form and payment, a duplicate certificate will be mailed.

Do I have to work for a Bail Bond Company in order to pre-register?

No. This information is only being requested on the registration form as another way to contact you in the event we need to.

Do you have to have a separate license in Louisiana for Bail Recovery?

No. In the state of Louisiana a Bail Bond Producer License gives you authority to write bail and bail recovery.

What is Insurance License # for on the registration form?

This must be completed by all students registering for Continuing Education and does not apply for Pre-Licensing students.

Do I have to include my social security number on the registration form?

Yes. This is required by the Louisiana Department of Insurance to be included on the completion certificate.

Do I need to bring anything to the class?

You must have valid identification. We also suggest bringing something to write with and a hi-lighter.

What if I am late arriving for the class?

If you are more than 15 minutes late, you will have to confer with the instructor on possibly staying after the normal dismissal time to make up the part of the course you missed. If you are more than 15 minutes late, you may not be allowed to attend the course and will have to reschedule.

What material will I receive in the class?

You are provided with a course book that becomes yours to keep and will be useful as a study guide for the state exam.

When will I get my license?

During the 8-hour Pre-Licensing Course, you will be provided instruction on how to apply for your license with the Louisiana Department of Insurance and how to schedule your exam.

Can I get all of my Continuing Education through self study?

Bail Agents may obtain all 12 hours of CE through Self Study Courses.

How does the self study training work?

Louisiana Educational Services, Inc. offers self-study courses. On completion of the self-study, as well as returning the questions provided with the manual, to LES, and upon successfully completing the answers to those questions, (70% is passing), a certificate for Six Hours of Continuing Education will be forwarded to the student. The exam must be returned, fully answered within 30 days from the mailing of the course material. The post mark will determine the date of mailing. If the "exam" is returned later then this, you will incur a $50.00 late processing fee. ALSO, if for ANY reason, you must RETAKE the exam, you will incur an additional fee of $50.00.
